Our friend and colleague Dr Pete Horsfield

Dr Pete HorsfieldPete was instrumental in establishing the Collection of Health Data from General Practice (CHDGP) and subsequently PRIMIS. Throughout his career he pursued an interest in health informatics and was widely acknowledged as being an authority on clinical terminologies, data quality and the use of data to support quality improvement programmes. Between 2003 and 2007 he was Clinical Adviser to the UK Connecting for Health and was sole author, from its outset, of the data requirements for the UK Quality and Outcomes Framework. Pete continued to support the work of PRIMIS to present day, providing much valued advice, guidance and support to the team and he will be greatly missed.
